Fruity Cottage Cheese Salad

If you like cottage cheese, as I do, then you’ll absolutely love this light and fruity salad. (If you don’t like cottage cheese you’ve probably clicked on the wrong recipe and need to go back, now!) Fruit and cheese go really well together. You can use whatever seasonal fruit you like in this salad. I would usually include some rockmelon (cantaloupe) but I was unable to get it at the time. Don’t leave out the seeds – they add great flavour and crunch, as well as providing a good dose of healthy fat.



Serves 1


100g (3.5oz) low fat cottage cheese
handful spinach and rocket
1/2 pear, sliced
1/2 small Lebanese cucumber, sliced
handful grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
1 kiwi fruit, sliced
handful grapes, halved
1 tbsp mixed seeds: sunflower, pumpkin, flax, sesame etc


  1. Arrange all the salad and fruit attractively in a large bowl
  2. Pile cottage cheese on top and sprinkle with the seeds
